As I mentioned in my previous post crap about me, I feel like I am cursed sometimes. I have in the past played the lotto, bought scratch off tickets, been involved in many many drawings and played games where everyone around me won, I never win anything if the prize is money or items. Sure I can play the hell out of board games, scrabble, trivial pursuit, monopoly etc and I usually win but nothing but pride is involved with those.
This past Saturday was the Kentucky derby, I have never been to the actual festivities. My husband and I decided what the hell we entered a pool of some co-workers and friends to bet on the derby. I chose Eight Belles to place, alright we were gathered watching the race and I got a bit over zealous, jumping up and down yelling... run filly run, run you bytch ( I'm so ashamed), come onnnnnnn 5 and when she came in second I was so excited because I actually won some money. Then she dropped dead on the track......
OH SHIT.....

Well, she didn't literally drop dead on the track, but she didn't survive the fall.
It makes me glad they don't euthanize asthmatics that can't finish a hike.
Poor little filly.
Please don't ever bet money on me. I have two kids to raise. :-P
I swear I will never watch another horse race EVER again! First Barbaro then her. Do NOT want 3rd time to be the charm.
I'm just glad they don't euthanize those of us who watch & buy into all of it and wind up brokenhearted. I say I'll never watch another, but then I'd probably be lying.
But it was like Barbaro, which crushed me. Luckily, I was shopping & had totally forgotten about the Derby this year.
I think there are many of us who can relate a little too closely to poor Eight Belles. She gave her all. So sad.
Ok, I gotta ask. How much did you win? Ha. I forgot about the races that day and only seen the news later. I was saddened by the events.
